Week 49 - Glad Tacksägelsedagen! (Happy Thanksgiving Day)

Hey everyone!
First of all, happy late Thanksgiving and happy cyber Monday! Haha. I hope you have all had as good as a week as we have! Things are getting going here in Alingsås! :) highlights from this week, it was thanksgiving! Which isn't celebrated here, obviously. But we were alone to celebrate with our district! We had a lunch after district meeting. :) I have pics. I gave a talk this Sunday on personal revelation, we taught young men, and we had a investigator come to church!! So that was super awesome. :) it was also transfers, but nothing changed here. We found some cool people and got a new investigator! So I would say it was a pretty good week!

Cool experience from this week. Elder Hansen and I were going out to pound some doors and planned to do this one area on the other side of the lake. As we were walking over there Elder Hansen said maybe we should knock those buildings. They were a few buildings down from ours so I figured that they had already been down. So we said a prayer to see what we should do. Honestly I didn't get any prompting (one that I noticed anyways) on what we should do, so we said well we're already here so we might as well do it! So we did and found 2 people that were interested in the same building! Wasn't super big but after I could tell that that was the Lord putting those thoughts into our heads to show us where the prepared are. :)

This week I was reading in Alma 36 about Alma telling his conversion story to his son Helaman. And it talks about how when he was sinning against the church how great his pain was. But as soon as he repented and turned to the Lord, that pain and anguish was filling with amazing joy and love and comfort. :) so this week I would invite you all to read that chapter and see what you can change in your life to repent and come closer to Christ:)

I love you all and hope you have a great week! And Keep the Faith! :)

Oh and by the way don't forget about the Christmas initiative which begins on December 1st ! Visit Mormon.org to see what you can do to #LightTheWorld. :)

Week 48 - It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Hey everyone!
I hope you have had a good week! It sure has been great here in Alingsås :) highlight from this week. Well most important, IT SNOWED YESTERDAY. so needless to say I'm pretty pumped about that. :) we had splits With the zone leaders and the district leader, we met with some investigators, some less actives and a part member family! So it has been a pretty busy week! Feels good to be busy. :)

This week, we had a cool experience this past Saturday, we had a really busy day planned with lessons, members and all that good stuff. So we quite literally had no finding time. We had set a goal at the beginning of this transfer to contact at least 10 people everyday. And i honestly didn't know how we would do it. But towards the end of the night unfortunately one of our lessons had to cancel, but on the bright side, we had time to contact! It was a bummer we didn't have that lesson, but it was super cool to see the Lords hand helping us accomplish our goals in a very unexpected way. :)

Spiritual thought for this week, we were in sacrament meeting yesterday and there is a YSA girl that is leaving on a mission this week. So she gave her talk and she was talking about how as soon as she decided to go on a mission everything seemed to become really hard. She related it to Ether 12:6 where it says, "faith is things which are hoped for and not seen wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith." And how we need to have faith that the Lords knows what we are going through and he know what is best. :)

That's about it for this week, I hope you all have a good week! And and very happy Thanksgiving! Eat some stuffing for me. :) And as always, don't forget to Keep the Faith! Love y'all.

Week 47 - Tech-saaavy

Hey everyone!
Another week in the books! Crazy how fast time flies here. It was a really good week this week! Continuing to work really hard. Some highlights from this week, we got haircuts, we found some way cool potential investigators, set up some solid lessons for next week, so that's exciting! We had a ward Halloween party that we helped out with, we did service, we watched lots of the district and we last but not least, we had zone conference! :)

So to explain the subject, at zone conference President Youngberg announced that our mission is now a technology mission! Super cool! So, now instead of having tablets, we will be getting personal smart phone that we will use for like everything. Haha so that will be really cool! :) also at zone conference we talked a lot about the Book of Mormon. And how we can better work with the members. So it was really good! Getting ready to boost us into this new transfer. We are going to start setting up mission plans with everyone in the ward, exciting! Haha

Cool experience from this week, on Saturday I wasn't really having it. I wasn't having the best day and we were just getting rejection after rejection. Then we contacted a drunk fellow that just wanted to bash with us and I was a little flamed. Haha But my amazing companion noticed that and said, "Elder, let's say a prayer" so I said, "Yeah whatever.." and he said it in the middle of the street. My attitude didn't change immediately, but I just kind of forgot about it and by the time 10 minutes went by, it was like nothing ever happened. :) I know prayer works and the Lord is here for us. :)

Spiritual though for this week, I read the talk, Gods compelling witness by Ted R. Callister. From this past general conference. There was a part that I really liked from it. He said,"If one will take the time to humbly read and pray about the Book of Mormon, as did my friend, and give ear to the sweet fruits of the Spirit, the he or she will eventually receive the desired witness." I know that is true! I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon. It is true! That is why I am here spreading this glad message to others. :) I will take the words from president Monson, if you don't have a testimony of the Book of Mormon, do what is necessary to obtain one. :)

I love you all heaps and hope you have a wonderful week! Stay out of trouble and don't forget to Keep the Faith. :)

Week 46 - Hallå mina vänner.

Hallå mina vänner. :)
Hello my Friends :)

This week was killer! We got a lot done and we able to serve a lot of people. No new investigators, but we found a few potential investigators! So that's fun! Highlights from this week,It was Halloween this past week! Happy Halloween all you party animals. We did some service, had a bunch of member meals, I found the best salt licorice. Seriously so good. Passed apartment check with flying colors. Not to brag or anything but my last 3 apartment checks they have said that ours is the cleanest. Soooo ;) and we had fast Sunday! So I would say it was a pretty good week. :)

Cool story for this week, so we had dinner with our ward mission leader last night and it was about 8 when we got done. So we decided we would contact some people then head home. Keep in mind, the sun sets at like 4 so it is super dark and cold and NOBODY is outside. haha but we walked down the street and the only person there was a YSA member. So we walked up to him and he was like oh, who are you? haha so we did a role play contact with him on the street which was pretty fun. As we were wrapping up, there were 2 people coming down the street and he said, first or second? I said first and he said go get em. haha so we did and he ended being a super cool guy that is down to meet with us sometime! So that was pretty fun. :)

This week I have been thinking a lot about trusting the Lord in all that we do! Sometimes that can be the hardest thing to do. It feels like we are walking in the dark, be we have to trust that the Lord knows best and that he wants to help us! "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6 It is a promise that he gives us! He will direct your paths when you put your faith in him. :)

Well, thats all folks! Hope you have a fantastic week! Keep the Faith and Happy November! :)
