Week 78 - Glad Midsommer!

Wow! What a crazy week!
So much happened. Don't even know where to start. This past Wednesday was transfers! And I got shipped out of Stockholm back to Jönköping. Pretty weird to say bye to a place and people you have been with for the past 6 months. I love Stockholm. Now I am here in Jönköping and it is just as good as I remember it. :) my comp is elder Tingey and he is a boss. :) Elder Domino actually trained him! Other highlights, president told us he wants everyone to be doing district meetings over Skype so this last week was the first time and it actually went pretty well! Little different. But it was good. :) we had a mid summer fest on Friday which was way fun. That involved dancing around a pole while singing children's songs and lots of food. :) we had a few member meals they were a little surprised and excited to see me again. :) well the ones that remembered me. Hahah we played basketball with the ward. Sweden played Germany in the world cup and lost.. 2-1 put up a good fight though. Funny story about that, we were waiting for a bus(during the game) and all of the sudden the whole neighborhood, all at once, started screaming cheering and jumping around. Hahah it was so funny so I assume that's when Sweden scored their goal. Haha anyways. Also got some good finding time, but other than that, pretty normal week!

So this past Thursday was my birthday, pretty crazy I'm already 20.. But we were meeting one of our investigators named Iragi. He is from the Congo! Super bro. We get over to his house and he had made us food! Way sick. So we dit down to eat and he says I hope you like cow tongue.. Haha I've never had it before so let's do it! And it was actually way good! Iragi said it is his favorite food. He was pretty excited to hear he was the first one to feed it to me AND on my 20th birthday. :)

Yesterday, my companion and I taught Sunday school! We talked about obedience and why it is important. I read the story of Naaman in 2 kings 5. This is the story of the king who had leprosy. He went to the the prophet and he told Naaham to bath in the Jordan River 7 times and he will be healed. It says Naaman was "wroth" haha but he did as he was told and he was healed. I think of the amazing obedience and humility it much had taken for Naaman to do that. Of course I have the faith to do something big to be healed. But do I have the faith to do something very simple, almost too simple, to be healed? The prophets nowadays have told us to read the Book of Mormon everyday! And if we follow this simple act of humble obedience to show God we want to learn, he will give us the knowledge we need to continue. :)

Sorry little short this week, but I may or my not have more next week. :) haha hope y'all have a great week. And enjoy the good summer weather it will be gone before you know it. ;) keep the faith!!

Elder Baggett

Week 77 - I'M GOING BACK!

Hey everyone!

So this week is transfers!! So yesterday we received transfer calls and honestly this was the craziest one yet! You ready? I will be going BACK to Jönköping! I was there for 1 transfer last summer. and I will be going back! Pretty crazy. I am wayyyy excited. My comp will be Elder Tingey. It should be a good one! Other highlights from this week! Last Monday, we met a member in town and he bought us ice cream. :) We went on exchanges twice! I performed 2 baptismal interviews. ( AMAZING people by the way.) We planted flowers at the temple, which was a grand time. We had a member meal in literally the coolest apartment in Stockholm. Right on top of Central station. I will send pics. We helped the Apartment couple clean out the sisters old apartment that they will be selling this week. We had a lesson/ yoga session with our friend Erik. We had a good time. Hurt a good about, but I think I'll keep it up and be somewhat more flexible than I am now. haha We also talked what it is like to be a missionary. :)  We also were able to attend one of the baptisms on Saturday. Wonderful service. :) Then to finish off the week, we had dinner with the Endlers! Amazing, as always. :) Great week this week!

This week, I was thinking about what to share with y'all and I came across a scripture in Doctrine and Covenants 121.36 "That the rights of the priesthood are inseparably connected with the powers of heaven, and that the powers of heaven cannot be controlled nor handled only upon the principles of righteousness." so true! As we are living righteously, the Lord will bless us with his power. So that we can bless his children. I would invite you all the think about how you can better receive the powers of heaven in your daily life. I think you will find some fantastic ideas in DC 121:34-46. :)

Sorry, little short this week, the brain isn't working too well. haha anyways! I hope you all have a fantastic week! Love and miss y'all. Aaaaaand as always Keep the Faith. :)

Love,
Elder Baggett

Week 76 - Heja Sverige!! 🇸🇪

Hello once again!
Such an amazing week we have had in Stockholm! Seriously so busy and I absolutely love it! This past week over the course of 2 days, we met 15 members in the city. Hahah it was CRAZY! I love how big yet small the LDS community is! You meet people from all over the world that have the same beliefs and values as you and BAM immediate best friends. :) this week, we met with one of our investigators. His name is Eric and he is a BOSS super successful business man and a part time yogi with a Tesla. :) he even came to church! Wednesday was National Day! Nothing like the fourth of July. Here it's more just a day everyone gets off of work. Haha but a member invited us over and we made cinnamon rolls and took them to Less Active members! Way effective actually! We swung by 6, talked to 5, got let in by 4, and got 2 return appointments! We had exchanges with the office elders! So I went there with Elder Lee and it was a great time! We got invited to go and help clean the temple. And that was a great time! I did it this time last year which was cool to be back. :) we had soccer with the ward on Saturday and had a BBQ with 2 American families in the ward which was a BLAST! So so much fun. Good food good laughs. We shared a message at the end and it was Elder Sirrine and I at the front of the room with 9 children 4 missionaries and 4 adults. We could have taken a picture and put it in the next Liahona. Then we had 3 investigators in sacrament meeting!!! Things are happening people! :) Overall, fantastic week as usual. :)

Okay so funny story from this week, we had to meet the Zone Leaders at the train station to give them a guitar to give another set of missionaries they were going on exchanges with. (long story in and of itself) So, as we were at the station waiting, this man who was only wearing a bath robe and a pair of of flip flops walks by and we look at each other and shrugged our shoulders and laughed. Then he came up to us and asked it we were going to play the guitar that I was holding. And I was a little caught off guard and I said I guess, it you want. Hahah just then Elder strong and Craun come up and elder strong is a baller at the guitar. So we ask him to play a song. He played, "I'm trying to be like Jesus" and we all sang. :) received some of the weirdest looks I have ever received in my life. But we made that guys day. So it it what it is. :)

This week as we were cleaning the temple, Elder Sirrine and I got talking about what we were doing and we kind of laughed that we were cleaning things that were already clean. But then we talked about how if we don't clean things while they are still clean, it is a lot easier up keep. I related it to repentance. If we are repenting everyday of the little things that don't seem like that big of a deal we never have to worry about those big things. SO repent everyday and I can promise you will be happier and you will easier feel the promptings of the spirit. :)

Love you all tonssss! And I hope you have a fantastic week! Enjoy summer and Keep the faith. :)

Love,

Elder Baggett

Week 75 - SIX MONTHS TO SEXY!

As you can see by my title, it's on ladies and gentleman. Ya boy is going to be coming back the King, the ripped king. Anyways! wow! Awesome week this week! Got loads of stuff done this week, met with a lot of cool people. Spent some good time with members. Highlights from this week! We had Zone Conference which was AWESOME! I love zone conference. I learn so much every time and it always hypes me up to get back out and work hard. We talked about a lot of stuff, but I will bring that up in a sec. We had exchanges on Wednesday, we taught a few lessons and I did a baptismal interview which was so awesome! Things are happening here people I tell ya! Thursday and Friday we helped 2 different members move which is always fun! It's nice to get into normal clothes every once in a while and do some good physical labor. :) Saturday, we played soccer with the ward and had a ward grill party at the beach which was fun. We stuck out like sore thumbs. It was great. :)

So, two weeks ago, we met this guy on the street named Eric. Super cool guy. We talked a good while then we asked if he wanted a Book of Mormon, and he said, I was just about to ask! Yeah! So we gave him one, got his number, then set up an appointment! The appointment comes around, (I was actually on exchanges at this time so I wasn't there... But this is what Elder Sirrine told me) The met him and he took them to his apartment had a great lesson about the Book of Mormon and taught him how to pray. Way cool. Then, we had planned to called him yesterday to set up another appointment but before we could call him, he texted us and said, "I would really appreciate to meet you again. :)" SO COOL to see people open up to the message we have to share. :) So we are meeting him tonight!!

So this past week at Zone conference, we talked about Successfully Failing. There was something that was said that really stuck out to me. It was, if you give a reasonable effort and fail, you should still be happy. So true! There are a lot of things that are out of our control but as long as we do our best, there isn't much more the Lord or others can ask of us. So this week, do everything to the best of your ability and if you fail, smile. :)

I hope you all have a great week! I love and miss y'all so so much! Thanks for all of your support, this isn't something I could ever do on my own. :) As always, Keep the Faith!

Love,
Elder Baggett
